Gov't. Tit in "Public Service"

The adventures of Gov't. Tit continue...

Even though shorts about our lovable ex-cons aren't as frequent as we would like, just know that Johnny Wayne Skylar Jr. and Tom-T Mackenroy are still out there, making music and trying to walk the straight and narrow. When not onscreen I see them at a local grease-pit diner writing songs and drinking coffee. Thy sit surrounded by the denziens of their world: Truckers, Gamblers, Strippers, Greasy Lawyers, Crooked Politicians and other colorful characters. And right there next to them, at the end of the bar, is the squeaky-clean Nathan Brown.

It would be an understatement to say that I've missed these three characters and wish they would come to visit more often. However, being the kind of guys they are, they sometimes blow into town for the night, borrow five bucks, smoke most of our cigarettes and are gone the next morning. Hopefully, you don't wish them any ill will, after all, they're trying their best- Their parole officer is seeing to it. Maybe someday they'll stick around for good, but for now, they come and go as they please, like many of their character so often do. Of all of our projects, the shorts featuring Gov't. Tit seem to get the most vocal response. We've had several offers from friends and acquaintances to perform alongside Johnny and Tom-T. There seems to be something about the characters that people enjoy. Despite the fact that these are likely two men you would never want to sit next to on a bus, they have an innocence about them that is refreshing. Though they often say ignorant and foul things and their attempts to be upright citizens are often met with disastrous results, they still try. They are recognizable on a human level that hopefully lets you sympathize with them-even while they're giving your children terrible advice about how to avoid teen pregnancy.
