Horror Movie Matters #26: Psycho 1960 Dir. Alfred Hitchcock

#26 Psycho (1960 Dir. Alfred Hitchcock)

Adapted from the novel by Robert Bloch, this film follows the characters and events surrounding the lonely Bates Motel and its caretaker Norman. Psycho is famous for employing several wonderful twists and features one of the most iconic scenes in horror cinema-the now infamous shower scene. Hitchcock took every opportunity to promote the film and created a lengthy trailer wherein he gives a tour of the sinister hotel. This film went on to spawn several sequels and a shot-for-shot remake starring Vince Vaughn. In the end though, nothing can touch this classic film that made everyone afraid of the shower.
