Long time, no blog

As I write this, my son is not napping. He is supposed to be but instead he is lying in his bed hollering to himself and shouting out song lyrics. He has a taste for modern pop music so it is a lot of Taylor Swift and Uptown Funk. He has also been eating like a Mogwai that has plans to enter the “pupa stage”, which is to say, a lot.

I’ve written update blogs and rewritten them but nothing has felt quite right. This update doesn’t really feel quite right but I’ll do my best. The holidays, as wonderful as they were kind of ate my lunch and now that we’re at the start of a new year, I’m attempting to get back into the swing of things.

I’ve gotten some really good buzz about one of my projects. The kind of buzz that has me working on new scripts with Cinevore. Scripts that may be seen by others, and that’s all I can really say. I’m excited and optimistic. These are emotions that are difficult for me to give myself over to, but I feel it is healthy to do so in this instance.

I’ve also been tapped to write radio sketches for a local show coming up in March. I feel confident in my work and i think the audience is really going to enjoy it. It made a room of abject strangers laugh, so I think we’re off to the races.

I’ve also been working on a new entry in “The House of Shadows” live radio theatre. Three tales of terror are written, compiled and sent to actors. We’re waiting on a few other things so there’s a question about premiere dates, but it will premiere in the coming months. I’m enjoying the medium of the live horror radio. With podcasts taking off like they are, I’m thrilled to see that there si an audience for this type of entertainment. Also, I love monsters and horror and I can’t always put together a film about these things, but I want to do something more than a short story. Radio theatre is a good half step. Plus, we have people interested in the show that would never see a horror movie.

I’ve also been working on new episodes of VCoT. I have one almost complete with a few scripts in the pipeline. Hopefully I can get them buttoned up without a hiatus. I still feel like this one is the best season yet and more and more people are catching on, so win/win!

In other news I’ve been able to obtain a few bottled of the newly rereleased Crystal Pepsi. It is a quietly refreshing as I remember, however, for discontinued sodas, nothing can usurp SURGE in my mind. Seriously, SURGE is my all-time favorite soda.

That’s pretty much it. I've just been: writing, writing, taking care of a little boy, writing, writing, animating, writing writing. I don’t think I have been this creatively prolific in well, ever. I'll try to update this blog more often so stay tuned.

Take care,

-Rob
