Scattershot

So in the two weeks after finishing my last two projects, I've managed to start getting my sleep schedule back on track, clean my house a bit, play some video games (I know I'm late to the party, but I'm really enjoying Fallout 3) and watch two of the films I've been excited to see. So this post is just some random thoughts about what I've been taking in creatively.

Snow White and the Huntsman: This movie was fun. It reminded me of the really weird 80s fantasy I grew up with (Legend,The Neverending Story, In the Company of Wolves). Though the movie isn't perfect (there's some motivation problems and despite the title, the movie wrongly focuses on the queen), it is enjoyable and am I the only one who thinks Kristen Stewart isn't some hideous C.H.U.D., or is this just fallout from Twilight?

Prometheus: This movie was good. Once again, not perfect, but it hit all the right notes for me. The design was brilliant, it looked like a late 70s early 80s sci-fi film. I really liked the Lovecraft tones in this and will be looking forward to a four hour director's cut that clears up some motivation and perhaps gives the appropriate lead up time to certain scenes. I will definitely be buying this one to place alongside my Alien Quadrilogy.

Django Unchained trailer: Sorry, but I think that the first Inglourious Basterds trailer was better. Seriously watch them back to back and you tell me. But to be fair, this movie does look stylish and fun and I always look forward to a Tarantino outing.

So that's been it for me these past two weeks. There's other stimuli as well, but I don't know if you guys want to hear any more of my pop culture jibber jabber. By the way, what did you guys think about these movies? Let me know.

Slowly but surely, there will be more to come.
